Atlanta begins 2017 regular season on road against Mets

ATLANTA -- The Braves will begin the 2017 season with a three-city road trip and then return to Atlanta to open the brand new SunTrust Park on April 14 against the Padres.
Major League Baseball released its full 2017 schedule on Wednesday.
Because it will serve as the first regular-season game played in the new stadium, this home opener against the Padres will be one of the most anticipated games the Braves have played since last participating in the postseason in 2013. First pitch is currently scheduled for 7:35 p.m. ET.

After playing four games against the Padres, the Braves will conclude SunTrust Park's first homestand with a three-game set against the Nationals. They will return to Atlanta to host the Mets and Cardinals during a seven-game homestand that is scheduled for May 1-7.
The Braves will play an exhibition game against the Yankees at SunTrust Park on March 31 and then open the regular season with an April 3 game against the Mets at Citi Field. They will also serve as the opponent during the home openers played by the Pirates (April 7) and the Marlins (April 11).

The Braves' Interleague schedule includes home games against the Blue Jays (May 17-18) , Astros (July 4-5), Mariners (Aug. 21-23) and Rangers (Sept. 4-6). They will also travel to play the Astros (May 9-10), Blue Jays (May 15-16), Angels (May 29-31) and A's (June 30-July 2).

Before concluding next season with a seven-game road trip that will take them to New York and Miami, the Braves will end SunTrust Park's first regular season with a 10-game homestand that includes games against the Marlins (Sept. 16-18), Giants (Sept. 19-22) and Brewers (Sept. 23-25).
