J. Upton exits game after experiencing dizziness

ATLANTA -- Justin Upton left Tuesday night's game against the Phillies after experiencing dizziness and feeling lightheaded. Upton exited after popping out in foul territory by the Braves dugout in the bottom of the sixth.

Upton said he felt better after the game, but doctors will re-evaluate him in the morning before determining his status for Wednesday's game. Atlanta manager Fredi Gonzalez replaced Upton with Jordan Schafer in left field to begin the seventh.

"I didn't feel so hot out there and [Gonzalez] decided it was just smarter for me to get inside and take care of it," Upton said.

Gonzalez added: "He battled through it the first couple of innings. It just kept getting worse. So, we'll check him tomorrow."

Upton admitted that he may have been dehydrated, but Gonzalez did not seem to think so. The skipper said Upton did not seem sick when they spoke after the game.

"It wasn't like a fever or any of that kind of stuff," Gonzalez said.
