Austin Jackson Placed on DL; Shawn Armstrong Recalled

The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the 2017 Major League roster: Placed OF AUSTIN JACKSON on the 10-day Disabled List with a left quad strain and recalled RHP SHAWN ARMSTRONG (#51) from Triple-A Columbus.

The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the 2017 Major League roster:
Placed OF AUSTIN JACKSON on the 10-day Disabled List with a left quad strain.
Recalled RHP SHAWN ARMSTRONG (#51) from Triple-A Columbus.
Jackson begins his second stint on the D.L. in 2017 after injuring his left leg running the bases in Sunday's game vs. Minnesota. Austin is batting .304 (31-102) with 9 2B, 1 3B, 3HR & 15 RBI in 37 games with Cleveland this year. Armstrong is beginning his fifth stint at the Major League level this season following yesterday's option to Columbus. In 11 relief appearances with Cleveland he is 1-0 with a 5.02 ERA (14.1IP, 12H, 8R/ER, 6BB, 14SO, .222 avg).
