Robichaux extends scoreless streak to 24 2/3 innings

Angels No. 25 prospect strikes out 6 in 7 shutout frames; has not lost since May 5

With another dominant performance on Wednesday night, Angels No. 25 prospect Austin Robichaux extended his scoreless innings streak to 24 2/3.

The 6-foot-5 right-hander has been very consistent all year -- he has not lost since May 5 -- but his current run is something else. Class A Burlington fell, 1-0, to Kane County on Wednesday, with the game's lone run coming in the ninth -- after Robichaux finished his night.

Robichaux's final line against the Cougars was seven shutout innings, six hits, six strikeouts and one walk. He lowered his ERA to 3.02 on the year, while keeping his 7-2 record intact after the no-decision.

An 18th-round pick out of Louisiana Lafayette last summer, Robichaux was spotty during a 2-3, 4.91 ERA campaign with Rookie Level Orem. This year, it appears he's made a huge leap. The 22-year-old has 22 strikeouts against two walks in his past four starts.
