THE BASEBALL BOAT! Soon we'll be making another run

MSC Cruises is introducing a new series of vacation cruises, and past baseball legends will be going along for the voyage. There are a wide-range of options to pick from when choosing which adventure on the high seas is best for you.

I have never been on a cruise…my Nana used to watch a lot of The Love Boat and I never saw it as something I'd want to do. I have had heard from friends and family that have set sail and they have given the experience "thumbs up." I still just am a tad freaked out by the fact that Isaac (Ted Lange) from the Love Boat would pop up tending every bar on the ship…HOW DID HE DO IT!? Such a strange vessel Captain Stubing had there.

Anyway, I am sold on this Baseball Legends Cruise. That seems like it would be a great time. And it makes me think: who would I want to share time at sea with?

Paul O'Neill - Paulie is my favorite all-time player, a fellow Irishman and a big eater…and you gotta be on cruises I've heard. I could talk Yankee baseball with him, play some shuffle board (let him win because I have a soft spot for innocent Gatorade coolers), have a few pints and sing a few bars of The Foggy Dew while Paulie played drums with the ship's band.

Ozzie Smith - The Wizard is one of the nicest guys around. And he has a calming presence. I think when you are out to sea, it's always good to have someone who can make those skittish of water relax and enjoy themselves. And who better than The Wizard?

John Kruk - Mr. Kruk has the look of a man who would enjoy the hell out of a cruise. Out of the broadcast booth, he dresses as if he had just left the beach or a Jimmy Buffet show. I am guessing John would make your days on the briny blue a hell of a lot of fun. Kruk just seems like a vacation guy, so sign him up for yours!

THE SEATTLE MARINERS - Enough said. It's right there in the name. I want guys who can crew the ship in the event we need them. Hell, they can even bring the Moose. It's a lot of players, but the ship is huge. Come aboard, M's.

Rollie Fingers - It's the Stache! He has the look of a member of The Royal Navy hunting down the likes of Captain Jack Sparrow. Plus, I've gotten to speak with Mr. Fingers and could listen to him speak about his playing days for hours.

Derek Jeter - He is The Captain.

Brian Wilson - You have to have entertainment on the ship, right? Well, there you go. The Showroom will be packed every night. He could just sit in an orange wetsuit and read 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea aloud and sell out every night. The guy is a three-ring circus wrapped up into one man. Plus, he already has the attire ready.

In all seriousness, this cruise does sound like a baseball fan's dream vacation. Who would you want to join you on yours? Tweet me @mikeyoh21. All you need is a sturdy ship and a star to sail her by…oh and a handful of Baseball greats.
