Bastardo a steady presence in Phils' bullpen

PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies' bullpen has been a mess much of the season, but left-hander Antonio Bastardo has done his best to stabilize things.

He has a 1.42 ERA (three earned runs in 19 innings) in 19 appearances since June 16. That includes 24 strikeouts and a .169 opponents' average. He has allowed just two hits in 23 at-bats against left-handers in that stretch.
