Beckham activated from disabled list

OAKLAND -- Opening Day second baseman Gordon Beckham has been activated from the disabled list, the White Sox announced following Sunday's game in Oakland. The team designated infielder Tyler Greene for assignment.

Beckham, on the DL since April 10, was at Triple-A Charlotte for his rehab stint from a surgically repaired hand. He hit .333 with two doubles and five RBI in 36 at-bats for Charlotte.

Greene started 13 games at second base and entered six games as a pinch-runner. His contract was purchased from Charlotte on April 14.
