ATLANTA -- Sticking with their commitment to make SunTrust Park and its many adjoining entertainment options an all-inclusive year-round destination spot that extends beyond baseball, the Braves proudly revealed that Billy Joel will perform the first concert staged within the new stadium.
Joel will bring his world-renowned show to SunTrust Park on April 28, when the Braves begin a three-game series in Milwaukee. The six-time GRAMMY Award winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member will be making his first solo appearance in Atlanta since 2015.

"We couldn't think of a better artist to help us open SunTrust Park to the music business," Braves president of business Derek Schiller said. "To get Billy Joel to perform our first concert here, I think it's like hitting a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth. So we're super excited."
Reserved seating will be available throughout most of the stadium's bowl and on the field in front of the stage, which will be located in center field. Ticket prices are $54.50, $104.50 and $139.50. They will be available at LiveNation.com and through Ticketmaster. American Express cardholders can purchase tickets beginning at 10 a.m. ET on Monday. Tickets will be made available to the general public at 10 a.m on Jan. 13.
Joel still performs regularly at Madison Square Garden, and his SunTrust Park performance will be one of a few within a Major League Baseball stadium this year. He is also scheduled to play at Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park, Boston's Fenway Park, Chicago's Wrigley Field and Cleveland's Progressive Field.
While Turner Field hosted some full-length marquee concerts during its early years, stadium logistics and acoustics led the Braves to shy away from some of the big shows they can now more comfortably stage within SunTrust Park, which was designed in a manner to attract the likes of Joel and other top-billing acts.
"The ballpark was designed with these kinds of events in mind, and we also have all the things around the ballpark in The Battery Atlanta, with all of its restaurants, bars and shops," Schiller said. "When you come down to a concert, you're also coming down to immerse yourself in those options."
Among those options will be The Roxy, a 4,000-person capacity, standing room-only venue within which the Braves and Live Nation plan to stage at least 40 music and comedy shows annually.
The Braves will announce other shows planned to be staged within SunTrustPark and at The Roxy at a later date.
