Blue Jays Acquire Revere

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have acquired OF BEN REVERE and cash considerations from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for RHP ALBERTO TIRADO and RHP JIMMY CORDERO.

REVERE, 27, is currently batting .296 with 20 XBH and 24 stolen bases in 96 games this season. The Atlanta, Georgia native was originally selected with the 28th overall pick by Minnesota in 2007 and has spent three seasons each with the Twins and Phillies. A left-handed hitter, Revere has a career .292 average and 169 stolen bases in 589 contests.

RHP ALBERTO TIRADO, is 4-3 with a 3.23 ERA in 31 relief outings for Dunedin (A) in his 4th professional season. RHP JIMMY CORDERO also in his 4th professional season, is a combined 0-1 with a 2.70 ERA at Dunedin (A) and New Hampshire (AA) in 32 relief appearances.
