Blue Jays Baseball Academy to host Girls Baseball Clinic at Rogers Centre

For the 3rd consecutive season, the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy will host a Girls Baseball Clinic at Rogers Centre on Saturday, June 27. The clinic will target female baseball and softball players ages 6-16 and will be run in partnership with both Baseball Canada and Little League Baseball Canada. The Blue Jays Baseball Academy is committed to helping develop and grow the game of baseball across Canada.

The clinic will run at Rogers Centre from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Saturday, June 27. Registration is now available on bluejays.com/girlsday and space is limited. Each participant will receive a Blue Jays hat, t-shirt, and Blue Jays Baseball Academy Instructional Manual. The cost of the clinic is $65 per participant.

During the clinic, participants will be separated into groups based on age and will rotate through stations that include: hitting, base running, infield, outfield and pitching. Members of the Canadian Women's National Team will act as guest instructors along with Blue Jays Baseball Academy staff.

"The Girls Baseball Camp at Rogers Centre is special in that sense that participants will have an opportunity to work with members of our National Team to improve their skills, while also realizing that they can aspire to represent their country in the future at events like the World Cup and now the Pan Am Games. We can't thank the Blue Jays enough for providing these opportunities for female players and for their continued support of amateur baseball across all levels and age groups in Canada."- André Lachance, Manager Baseball Operations, Women's National Team Head Coach.

To further expand the reach of the program, Jays Care Foundation will cover registration fees for five participants from KidSport Canada, whom Jays Care also provides with $100,000 to remove financial barriers to organized sport for children and youth across Canada.
