Blue Jays claim Kelly
The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed INF/OF TY KELLY off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals. He will report to Buffalo of the International League (AAA).
KELLY, 27, has spent all of 2015 with Memphis of the Pacific Coast League (AAA), posting a .203 average with five doubles, four triples, two home runs and 38 walks in 227 at-bats. The Stockton, California native has a career .381 OBP over seven seasons, recording 85 walks in 2014 and a career high 102 in 2013. Drafted by Baltimore in 13th round of the 2009 draft, the switch-hitter owns a .276 average with a .759 OPS in 782 career games.
