Blue Jays promote Tinnish & Parker

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have promoted ANDREW TINNISH to the position of Assistant General Manager and BRIAN PARKER to the position of Director, Amateur Scouting.  

In this new position, ANDREW TINNISH will report directly to Senior Vice President and General Manager, Alex Anthopoulos and assist with Major League operations.   The Nepean, Ontario native and Brock University graduate started his career with the Blue Jays as an intern in 2001 before being named to the position of Baseball Operations Assistant in 2002.   He then worked as an Area Scout before being named Scouting Coordinator in 2003, Assistant Scouting Director in 2006 and then Director, Amateur Scouting in October 2009.  Tinnish joins Tony LaCava (Vice President, Baseball Operations and Assistant GM) and Jay Sartori (Assistant GM) in holding the Assistant General Manager title.

BRIAN PARKER joined the Blue Jays in 2009 as a Professional Scout after serving as the Director of Baseball Operations for the Washington Nationals.  The Indiana State University graduate was promoted to Professional Crosschecker for the Blue Jays in January.  Parker began his baseball career with the Colorado Rockies in 1997 and has worked for the Arizona Fall League, the Montreal Expos and the Washington Nationals where he worked for five years in the positions of Assistant Director, Scouting and Director of Baseball Operations.
