Prospect Nolin keeps putting up zeros

After shutting out Triple-A Charlotte for six innings Friday, left-hander Sean Nolin has now thrown at least six scoreless innings in each of his past three starts. Though he didn't factor in the decision, Buffalo defeated Charlotte, 1-0, in 11 innings.

Nolin, the Blue Jays' No. 10 prospect, extended his scoreless-innings streak to 19 with his latest gem. Working efficiently, he threw 85 pitches and allowed four hits and no walks. He struck out four batters and induced nine ground-ball outs.

In 29 innings over five starts this season, Nolin has a 1.55 ERA and a 28-to-11 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

While the Bisons were unable to score when Nolin was in the game, they scratched out the winning run in the 11th inning. Outfielder Kevin Pillar, the Blue Jays' No. 15 prospect, led off the inning with a single, and he was eventually driven in by shortstop Ryan Goins.

Pillar went 1-for-5 on Friday, extending his hitting streak to 14 games. He is hitting .263 in 24 games this season.
