Blue Jays Roster Moves

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have selected the contracts of RHP SHAWN HILL and RHP BOBBY KORECKY to the Major League Roster.  To make room on the 40-man roster, the Blue Jays have transferred LHP JA HAPP to the 60-day disabled list.

HILL, 31, started 15 games for the Las Vegas 51s in 2012 posting a record of 9-2 with a 4.52 ERA.  The Mississauga, ON native started four games for the Blue Jays in 2010 posting a 1-2 record with a 2.61 ERA.   In parts of six seasons in the Major Leagues the 6-2, 225lb. right-handed pitcher has a 9-18 record with a 4.74 ERA in 44 starts while pitching for Montreal (2004), Washington (2006-2008), San Diego (2009) and Toronto (2010).

KORECKY, 32, appeared in 42 games for Las Vegas in 2012 with two starts and posted a 3-4 record with a 3.44 ERA. The 5-11, 185lb. right-handed pitcher has appeared in 21 Major League games posting a 2-0 record with a 6.85 ERA.  Those appearances, for the Hillside, New Jersey native, came as a member of the Minnesota Twins (2008) and the Arizona Diamondbacks (2009).

Both players are expected in Baltimore for the doubleheader today.
