Blue Jays roster moves

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have selected the contracts of SS RYAN GOINS and C A.J. JIMENEZ to the 40-man roster. 1B MIKE McDADE, INF MIKE McCOY and RHP CORY WADE were designated for assignment.

GOINS, 24, spent last season in New Hampshire (AA) leading the Eastern League with 158 hits and his 33 doubles and .289 average were team highs. The left-handed hitting shortstop posted a .338 average with runners in scoring position on his way to registering career highs in most offensive categories, earning a Webster Award for the club.

JIMENEZ, 22, spent last season in New Hampshire (AA) posting a .257 average with seven extra base hits in just 27 games before his season was shortened due to Tommy John surgery. The 9th round selection in the 2008 draft earned a Webster Award in Dunedin for 2011 and owns a career .282 average.
