Blue Jays roster moves

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have placed RHP BRANDON MORROW on the 15-day disabled list effective today, with a right forearm strain and have selected the contract of RHP RAMON ORTIZ from Buffalo of the International League (AAA). To make room on the 40-man roster LHP RICKY ROMERO has been outrighted to Buffalo. Following yesterday's contest RHP CHAD JENKINS was optioned to Buffalo of the International League (AA). RHP MICKEY STOREY has been recalled from Buffalo.

ORTIZ, 40, has appeared in six games this season for the Blue Jays, making three starts, posting a 1-2 record with a 5.01 ERA. The Couti, Dominican Republic native had been designated for assignment on May 29 and outrighted May 31. This will mark his third stint with the Blue Jays this season. Over 12 Major League seasons the right-hander is 87-86 with a 4.93 ERA.

STOREY, 27, has made two appearances for Toronto in 2013, recording a 7.36 ERA (3.2IP, 6H, 3ER, BB, 5K). The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native has spent most of this season with Buffalo posting a 0-1 record with a 3.81 ERA in 13 relief appearances. Storey has posted a 0-1 mark with a 4.24 ERA in his Major League career with Houston and Toronto.
