Blue Jays Sign Barney

The Toronto Blue Jays have signed INF Darwin Barney to a one year contract worth US $1.05 million.

Barney, 30, batted .304 with two home runs in 15 games for Toronto after being acquired from the Dodgers on September 13 of last season. A veteran of six Major League seasons, the Portland, Oregon native is a .246 hitter with 21 home runs and 157 RBI. Over the past four seasons the 2012 Gold Glove Award winner has made just 12 errors.
