On Sunday, May 29th, the Toronto Blue Jays and Jays Care Foundation will announce a significant investment toward the YMCA of Greater Toronto's Strong Start, Great Future capital campaign, which aims to improve the health of communities across the GTA by building new YMCA Centres of Community.
The investment, originally signed in 2014, will be recognized by naming the youth zones in four new Centres of Community across the GTA. The announcement will be held at the new Cooper Koo Family Cherry St. YMCA, where the first of the new Jays Care youth zones is located. The Cooper Koo Family YMCA officially opens its doors on Monday, May 30.
Representatives from Jays Care will join the YMCA for a grand opening ceremony followed by a baseball clinic. All baseball equipment will be donated to the Cooper Koo Family YMCA location by Jays Care.
