Bombers bits

• Ichiro Suzuki received his second day off of the young season on Wednesday, as manager Joe Girardi said he wanted to get Brennan Boesch in the lineup and is trying to rotate his outfielders. Ichiro homered in Tuesday's 14-1 win over the Indians, but is batting just .185 (5-for-27) so far this year.

"He'll get in a rhythm. I'm not worried about that," Girardi said. "Guys go through that in the course of the season."

• Yankees right-hander Phil Hughes is dealing with a stomach virus, but remains in line as the listed probable starter for Thursday's game against the Indians. Girardi said that he is keeping an eye on the situation and did not rule out the chance of making a change, but said that there is no reason to do so yet.

• Left-hander Clay Rapada, signed to a Minor League contract on Tuesday, will report to the Yankees' complex in Tampa, Fla., and eventually will be promoted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The earliest possible date he could be added to the Major League roster is May 3.
