Bombers bits

David Huff is still listed as the Yankees' starter on Thursday against Baltimore even though he gave up nine runs on eight hits over 3 1/3 innings in a loss to the Red Sox on Saturday. Girardi said he hasn't made any changes to the team's rotation.

• On this day in Yankees history, Babe Ruth hit his 300th career home run (Sept. 8, 1925) and Don Mattingly made his Major League debut as a defensive replacement in left field (Sept. 8, 1982).

• The Yankees had their rookies dress in a variety of wild costumes for the flight to Baltimore after Sunday's 4-3 win. The star of the show was Hiroki Kuroda's interpreter, Jiwon Bang, who dressed in the iconic blue tuxedo of "Gangnam Style" performer Psy. Brett Marshall donned a yellow suit like the one worn by Psy's sidekick in last summer's YouTube sensation.

The others: Preston Claiborne as Billy Ray Cyrus; JR Murphy as Justin Bieber; Cesar Cabral as Rick James and David Adams as Vanilla Ice.
