Shipley atop D-backs' Top 30 Prospects list

July 28th, 2016

MILWAUKEE -- maintained the top spot in MLB.com's midseason ranking of the prospects in the Arizona Diamondbacks' system.
New Top 30 lists were released for all 30 teams Thursday along with an updated Top 100 Prospects list for Major League Baseball.
Recent promotions to the big leagues as well as trades have reduced the D-backs' representation among the Top 100.
Top 100 Prospects
Before the season began, Shipley was No. 67 on the list and fellow right-hander was No. 72.
With Bradley seemingly in the big leagues to stay, he is no longer eligible for the list. Shipley, who slipped to No. 77 in the rankings, also might drop off the list if he remains in the big league rotation.
The 24-year-old Shipley was selected in the first round (15th overall) by the D-backs in 2013, and he made his Major League debut Monday against the Brewers.
Left-hander made the biggest jump in the D-backs' Top 30 rankings, rising 13 spots to No. 3 behind Shipley and outfielder .

Banda impressed the big league staff during Spring Training and was promoted not long ago from Double-A Mobile to Triple-A Reno.
The D-backs' top three picks in the 2016 Draft were added to the Top 30 list.
Lottery Round A pick Anfernee Grier, an outfielder from Auburn, is No. 6, while second-rounder Andy Yerzy, a high school catcher from Canada, is No. 17. The third-round pick, right-hander Jon Duplantier from Rice, is No. 16.
Among those falling out of the Top 30 was Yoan Lopez.
Lopez, who was signed to an $8.27 million bonus in January 2015 after defecting from Cuba, has struggled on the field and dealt with some maturity issues off the field. He was ranked No. 6 in the preseason.
