ATLANTA -- Braves third baseman Adonis Garcia exited Thursday's 7-2 win against the Reds in the bottom of the seventh inning due to mild left ankle soreness. He is considered day to day.
"He'll be all right," interim manager Brian Snitker said. "It's just got to get taped up."
With two outs in the inning and Freddie Freeman on first, Garcia hit a ground ball to Reds shortstop Zack Cozart, whose throwing error allowed Garcia to reach and Freeman to advance to third. The next batter, Jace Peterson, hit an RBI single to right, which moved Garcia to second. A trainer came out to check on Garcia, and he was lifted for pinch-runner Erick Aybar.
Garcia is batting .256 with three home runs and 14 RBIs.
