Phillips day to day with left groin strain

NEW YORK -- Braves second baseman exited Wednesday's 8-2 win over the Mets in the second inning with a left groin strain. The team listed him as day to day, and manager Brian Snitker said he could return to the lineup as soon as Friday night in Milwaukee.
"It tested out better than we first thought," Snitker said. "He might even be able to pinch-hit [Thursday]."
Phillips was hurt sliding into second base on an unsuccessful stolen-base attempt in the first inning. He stayed in the game defensively in the bottom of the frame, but pinch-hit for him in the top of the second.
Phillips, acquired from the Reds in February, is hitting .352 with two home runs, nine RBIs and 10 runs scored in 19 games.
