Braves call up pitching prospect Jenkins

Righty was acquired in 2014 trade that sent Heyward to St. Louis

ATLANTA -- The Braves called up right-hander Tyrell Jenkins from Triple-A Gwinnett before Thursday's series finale with the Reds, and they optioned Casey Kelly back to Gwinnett.
The Braves acquired Jenkins from the Cardinals in the 2014 trade that sent Jason Heyward to St. Louis. He's the club's eighth-ranked prospect, according to MLBPipeline.com.
The 23-year-old saw action in 14 games (nine starts) with Gwinnett, posting a 6-3 record and a 2.91 ERA. During his Minor League career, Jenkins is 32-27 with a 3.75 ERA in 97 games (92 starts). 
Kelly has gone 0-2 with a 5.79 ERA in eight games (one start) for the Braves this season. He is 2-2 with a 2.82 ERA in eight games (six starts) for Gwinnett.
