MIAMI -- As expected, Braves second baseman Gordon Beckham was not in the lineup for Sunday's finale against the Marlins, and it's uncertain whether he will require a stint on the disabled list, according to manager Fredi Gonzalez.
Beckham left Saturday night's game with a left hamstring strain after pulling up while running out a groundout in the top of the sixth inning of the Braves' 6-4 win at Marlins Park. Gonzalez said that Beckham was "a little sore" Sunday.
"We're going to wait it out a little bit because of the off-day [Monday] instead of just straight panic and put him on the 15-day DL," Gonzalez said. "We're going to see how he reacts today with the treatment. Tomorrow he'll come in, and we'll make a decision on Tuesday."
Gonzalez said that the good news is that Beckham has good strength in his left leg, according to the trainers, and he is hopeful that a couple more days of stretching and treatments will alleviate the soreness.
"We'll wait and see how it develops," Gonzalez said.
Kelly Johnson started at second base Sunday, batting sixth in the Braves lineup.
