Braves Name Ralph "Rocket" Wheeler Manager for Single-A Florida

The Atlanta Braves today announced the organization has made an adjustment to its player development staff, naming Ralph "Rocket" Wheeler as the manager of the Single-A Florida Fire Frogs. Paul Runge has been reassigned within the organization as a roving instructor. Wheeler will manage the team tonight vs. Fort Myers.

Wheeler spent the first half of this year as an on-field advisor for the Braves after spending his first 14 seasons in the organization as a minor league manager. He returns to the bench of the club's high-A affiliate, where he managed from 2006-2010 and then again in 2016. He earned Minor League Manager of the Year honors from Baseball America in 2008 after leading Myrtle Beach to a franchise-record 89 wins.
