Atlanta Braves introduce new Memorial Diamond to honor deceased Atlanta Alumni and Braves Hall of Fame members

Braves Memorial Diamond Located in Monument Grove

The Atlanta Braves announced today that the team has created the Braves Memorial Diamond located in Monument Grove to honor deceased Atlanta alumni and Braves Hall of Fame members.

"It's important for us to honor our history and those who have been a part of our organization along the way," said Atlanta Braves President John Schuerholz. "Having this memorial in Monument Grove gives our fans the chance to reflect and remember the players that meant so much to them."

The brick installment of the Braves Memorial Diamond is located by Warren Spahn's number 21 in Monument Grove. A bronzed plaque that reads "Braves Memorial Diamond" will mark the top of the diamond, and a bronzed plaque that reads "In Memory and in Honor of Our Braves Family" will be at the bottom.

Inside the diamond, Braves Hall of Fame members will have double bricks installed with their name, position, the year they were inducted and the year they died.

Atlanta Braves players, coaches or managers who were with the team for two or more years will have a brick placed in the diamond with their name, position, years they played and the year they died.

Family members will be given commemorative replica bricks.
