August 9th, 2017

A trio of 2017 Draft picks combined to throw a no-hitter as the Rookie-level Danville Braves topped the Bristol Pirates, 5-0, in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Tuesday.
Bruce Zimmerman, Jacob Belinda and John Curtis gave up one walk and struck out eight as they put together Danville's first no-hitter since 2009 and the sixth in club history.

Zimmerman, a fifth-round selection, walked the second batter he faced and then retired five in a row, completing his two innings of work.
Belinda, a 10th-round pick, came on for four innings and was perfect, retiring all 12 batters he faced. The 22-year-old improved to 4-0 in his professional career and lowered his ERA to 2.65 as he's held opponents without an earned run in three of his past four outings.

Curtis took the ball in the seventh and final inning and promptly retired the side in order. The eighth-round pick threw 12 of his 17 pitches for strikes and capped the game with a pair of strikeouts.
