CHICAGO -- Already dealing with a number of injuries, the White Sox Had another one crop up during their rain-shortened 2-1 loss against the Tigers on Thursday night at U.S. Cellular Field.
Second baseman Brett Lawrie left with a tight left hamstring in the fourth inning and is considered day to day.
"He pulled something, felt something in the back of his leg and we'll check it out [Friday]," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said.
Tyler Saladino replaced Lawrie at second base. Lawrie, who's hitting .248 with 12 home runs and 36 RBIs in his first season with the White Sox, said it was a precautionary measure to come out of the game. He felt a twinge before the game and it didn't subside enough for him to continue.
"It's one of those things where you take care of it, because we've got [67] games left, so it's important to be ready for those and not necessarily worry about just today," he said. "You've got to look forward as well."
Chicago currently has seven players on the disabled list, including starting pitcher Carlos Rodón, center fielder Austin Jackson, catcher Alex Avila and reliever Zach Putnam.
