Brewers claim infielder Adrianza from Giants

The Brewers claimed infielder off waivers from the Giants on Tuesday and designated right-hander Rob Scahill for assignment.
Adrianza, 27, gives the Brewers added infield depth behind utilityman and a backup shortstop should struggle in his first full season.

Adrianza had spent his entire career with the Giants after signing with San Francisco as an amateur free agent in 2006. He's spent parts of four seasons in San Francisco playing all over the infield, hitting .254/.299/.381 with two home runs and seven RBIs in 40 games last season.
Adrianza is a career .220/.292/.313 hitter in 154 Major League games.
Scahill, who turns 30 in February, posted a 2.45 ERA in 16 relief appearances for Milwaukee last season. He has a 3.68 ERA in 100 relief appearances over five years with the Rockies, Pirates and Brewers.
