Brewers Community Foundation and Special Olympics partner for "Over the Edge" event at Miller Park

Fundraising event offers donors an opportunity to rappel down the side of Miller Park

MILWAUKEE - For all cause-conscious thrill seekers, Brewers Community Foundation and Special Olympics Wisconsin are teaming up for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rappel down the side of Miller Park.

On Saturday, July 19, Brewers Community Foundation and Special Olympics Wisconsin will host "Over the Edge at Miller Park," where those raising $1,000 or more will have the opportunity to rappel down the side of the iconic ballpark.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and all proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Wisconsin. Opportunities for a "buddy" rappel are also available for those raising $1,500 or more. Companies also can collect donations for the opportunity to "toss your boss" and send those in charge over the edge of Miller Park. For those a bit squeamish about making the rappel down the side of the building, a one-story training wall will be available for participants to get a feel for the harness on the day of the event.

For more information and to sign up for the event, please visit http://overtheedge.fundraising-brewers.com. When signing up, there are simple instructions to distribute donation information to family, friends and co-workers. All are invited to attend the event as well in a special spectator viewing area.

Special Olympics provides services for people with intellectual disabilities, providing not only sporting competitions but leadership opportunities and self-esteem and confidence boosters. Special Olympics Wisconsin is a statewide organization which provides nearly 10,000 intellectually-disabled individuals with year-round sports training and competition in approximately 180 communities across Wisconsin.
