Brewers show off power in finale win over Bucs

Carter, Santana, Villar provide home runs to help seal sweep

PITTSBURGH -- The Brewers used the home run ball on Sunday in a 10-0 victory completing a three-game sweep of the Pirates at PNC Park.
"With our guys has provided a lot of that," Brewers manager Craig Counsell said. " has got that in him certainly. We played a really good series."
Santana got the Brewers on the board with his fifth home run of the season off Pirates starter . The 24-year-old, who hadn't homered since coming off the disabled list on Aug. 19, went yard again in the ninth.

"It felt good," Santana offered. "It just feels good to hit one. I'm just fortunate to hit two."
The Brewers' biggest blow of the game came in the sixth inning, when pinch-hit for starting pitcher . The infielder didn't appear on Saturday due to a sore left knee that stemmed from a slide on the bases on Friday, but was deemed healthy enough to hit.
After a walk loaded the bases, Villar faced Pirates reliever . With the count 2-2, Villar hit the sixth pitch of the at-bat, all of which were fastballs, into the left-field seats, giving Milwaukee a 5-0 lead.
"I've been ready for that pitch, because he throws hard," Villar said. "I was waiting for a fastball."

Then in the ninth, Carter put the game out of reach, if it wasn't already. The Brewers' slugger hopped on a 2-0 fastball and hit it out to center field for his 32nd home run of the season and second in as many games.
"We had some big hits," Carter said. "Villar's home run was huge for us in a one-run game and that made it 5-0, that was big."
Santana followed Carter's three-run blast with his second solo homer of the day to give the game its final line, 10-0.
