MILWAUKEE -- "It's been the slowest five weeks of my life," Brewers right-hander Junior Guerra said on Wednesday, but the end of his stint on the disabled list is finally in sight.
Sidelined since suffering a right calf strain in the third inning of Milwaukee's Opening Day loss to the Rockies, Guerra threw a 60-pitch simulated game at Miller Park on Wednesday afternoon and reported no setbacks. His next step is a Minor League rehab assignment, scheduled to begin on Monday night at Double-A Biloxi.
It would be the first of at least two scheduled Minor League games, according to Brewers manager Craig Counsell.
"I'm just a little anxious to get back," Guerra said through translator Carlos Brizuela. "I'm ready. I think the first outing is going to be about 75 pitches. ... I'm just ready to get going, just ready to have the opportunity to get back in the rotation."

Nick Franklin and Manny Pina batted on Wednesday against Guerra, who simulated a variety of game situations. The right-hander emerged from the session with no discomfort in his leg.
"Now I've got to calm the horses down a little bit and go out there and do my job and get ready to help the team win," Guerra said.
