Brewers Launch "Strike Out Bullying" Contest
Grand Prize Includes Visit by Players and Game Tickets for Winning School
MILWAUKEE - This season, the Milwaukee Brewers are launching the Strike Out Bullying essay contest. Students from across the greater Milwaukee area will be asked to submit a one-page essay about what their school is doing to "Strike Out Bullying." The winning entry will receive a grand prize which includes a visit from Brewers players as well as tickets and transportation to a game.
The essay is an open ended question, "what is your school doing to strike out bullying?" Students should include various examples and methods on how their school is helping to stop and prevent bullying.
Each essay should be no longer than 350 words and students from all public and private elementary, middle and high schools in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Washington and Waukesha Counties are eligible to participate. The winning essay will be selected by a panel of judges assembled by the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club.
On Monday, May 11, 2015, the winning participant's school will be awarded a visit from Brewers players and other Brewers personnel, along with Brewers apparel, game tickets for that day and transportation to and from Miller Park. In addition, the student with the winning essay will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at that night's game.
All entries must be postmarked by April 12, 2015 to be eligible for inclusion and only one entry per student will be accepted. The author of the winning essay will be notified prior to May 11.
