Vote to send Lucroy, Braun to All-Star Game

Brewers catcher moves into fifth place, outfielder also fifth among outfielders in latest balloting

SAN FRANCISCO -- Jonathan Lucroy continues to move up in voting on the 2016 Esurance MLB All-Star Ballot, now ranking fifth among National League catchers, while Brewers teammate Ryan Braun is fifth among outfielders in the most recent update released Wednesday.
With 434,029 votes, Lucroy trails Yadier Molina (Cardinals) -- who leads with 933,300 and is followed by Buster Posey (Giants), Wilson Ramos (Nationals) and Miguel Montero (Cubs) -- in the voting despite going into the day leading all NL catchers in batting average (.307), hits (67) and slugging percentage (.528).

The 30-year-old Lucroy, who hit his 10th home run of the season off Giants ace Madison Bumgarner on Tuesday, was also an All-Star in 2014.

Braun is a six-time All-Star who has been the subject of trade rumors for more than a month. With 845,093 votes, he trails the Cubs' Dexter Fowler (1,611,833), the Nationals' Bryce Harper (1,451,270), the Mets' Yoenis Cespedes (1,395,577) and the Cubs' Jason Heyward (993,073).

Fans can cast their votes for starters at MLB.com and all 30 club sites -- on their computers, tablets and smartphones -- exclusively online using the 2016 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot until Thursday, June 30, at 10:59 p.m. CT.
