Here's a look at top prospects to watch in today's Minor League action:

Hitter to watch: Jorge Mateo (A's No. 4), Midland at Frisco (8:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)

Mateo fired on all cylinders Friday in Double-A Midland's win against San Antonio on Friday, going 4-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and four runs scored out of the leadoff spot. It was his fourth four-hit performance this season and his first since joining the A's organization in the Trade Deadline deal for Sonny Gray. Overall, the 22-year-old shortstop-center fielder has posted a .267 average across with 58 extra-base hits and 52 steals in 126 games this season spanning two levels and two organizations.

Pitcher to watch: Freddy Peralta (Brewers' No. 11), Biloxi at Mobile (8:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)

Peralta has been the hottest pitcher in the Minors since the beginning of August. The 21-year-old right-hander owns a 0.40 ERA for Double-A Biloxi over his last five outings (four starts), during which he's compiled 33 strikeouts in 22 1/3 innings while holding hitters to a paltry .105/.236/.132 line. The torrid stretch comes at the end of a breakout campaign that's seen Peralta post a 2.53 ERA with a .176 opponents' average and 161 strikeouts in 114 combined innings between the Carolina and Southern Leagues.
