Braun exits with sore right arm

April 30th, 2017

MILWAUKEE -- Banged-up during an active three-game series against the Braves, Brewers left fielder made an early exit from Sunday's 4-3 win with a sore right arm and said he expects to be sidelined at least a couple of days.
"There's a couple things in my arm," Braun said. "Hopefully not too bad, but probably more than a day or so."
In their report, the Brewers cited a tight right trapezius, one of the muscles in the shoulder and neck area. But Braun indicated there were other issues in his arm of greater concern, though he did not specify them.
If Braun misses time, manager Craig Counsell's options for left field include , who took over in the top of the seventh when Braun left Sunday's game, along with and Nick Franklin.
At the moment, Braun believes he can avoid a stint on the 10-day disabled list.

"Just wear and tear," he said. "It can get irritated swinging, throwing and then obviously you're playing through it and it continues at times to gradually get worse, and I think that's kind of what happens. It's nothing too serious, nothing that I'm overly concerned about."
Braun finished 0-for-3 but has been the Brewers' second-most productive hitter to Thames, batting .287 with seven home runs and 18 RBIs in 24 games.
