MILWAUKEE -- Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun missed a second straight start Sunday with a sore right wrist and underwent an examination with head team physician William Raasch, who reviewed the results of an X-ray taken Saturday.
"I just kind of irritated it a little bit. I don't think it's anything serious," said Braun, the Brewers' leader in batting average, OPS, RBIs and total bases. "As far as I know [the X-ray was negative], but they wanted Raasch to look at it because he wasn't here yesterday. They just want to eliminate the small possibility of it being a stress fracture. But obviously I've played with it for a little bit, so I don't think it's anything significant."
Braun said he began feeling discomfort before Friday's game against the Padres, when he went 0-for-3 to snap a 12-game hitting streak but took an intentional walk, extending his on-base streak to 23 games. It's tied for the third-longest streak of reaching base in Braun's career, four games shy of the personal best he established at the start of 2011.
Both Braun and manager Craig Counsell cited improvement from Saturday, when Braun was completely off-limits for the Brewers' 12-inning, 8-7 loss to the Padres.
Alex Presley got the start in left field on Sunday for the second straight day. Presley went 1-for-4 and knocked in a run in Saturday's 8-7 loss in 12 innings.
