Brewers to make two selections on Day 1 of 2013 First-Year Player Draft tonight

Brewers Own Selections #54 (Second Round) and #72 (Competitive Balance Round B)

The Milwaukee Brewers will make two selections on Day 1 of the First-Year Player Draft, which begins this evening at 6 p.m. CT. The team's first pick will be at #54 in the second round. They will also make a selection at #72 (Competitive Balance Round B). Milwaukee forfeited its first-round selection for signing right-handed pitcher Kyle Lohse as a free agent.

The First-Year Player Draft spans three days of activity from Thursday through Saturday, and will take place at the MLB Network Studio 42 in Secaucus, New Jersey. Draft coverage will begin live on MLB Network and MLB.com at 6 p.m. CT tonight. The Brewers' first selection (#54) will take place at approximately 9:34 p.m. CT and pick #72 will take place at approximately 10:02 p.m. CT.

Representing the Brewers at the MLB Network Studio will be former Brewers pitcher Ken Sanders and Manager of Administration for Player Development Mark Mueller.

The selection rotation is determined by the clubs' reverse order of finish at the close of the previous championship season. The Draft, which is comprised of 40 rounds, will continue on Friday at noon CT for Rounds 3-10. The Draft will resume on Saturday for Rounds 11-40 at noon CT and will continue through its conclusion.
