On Tuesday, July 4, the Milwaukee Brewers will welcome 25 veterans on their "Tour of Honor" with the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight at Miller Park when the Crew takes on the Orioles.
The veterans of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War will be guests on the field for batting practice and will be honored prior to the game. During batting practice, players will wear a jersey with a veteran's last name on it. Before the game, the Brewers players will present the veterans with their jerseys.
"The Milwaukee Brewers are committed to giving back to those who sacrificed so much to defend our country through their service," said Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger. "The July 4 holiday and Stars and Stripes Honor Flight organization offers a perfect opportunity for us to welcome veterans to Miller Park in a very special ceremony."
The mission of Stars and Stripes Honor Flight is to honor all veterans by flying World War II, Korean, and Vietnam War veterans, as well as terminally ill veterans from other conflicts, to Washington, DC to see the memorials built in their honor.
