MILWAUKEE -- The rallying Brewers didn't get their first hit until the ninth inning, but they made some history in the fifth inning of their 6-3 loss to the Marlins on Friday night.
The Brewers went around the horn for the seventh triple play in team history, with third baseman Aaron Hill, second baseman Yadiel Rivera and first baseman Chris Carter combining to retire the Marlins in the top of the fifth inning. Brewers starter Zach Davies had surrendered a single and a walk to open the inning before Miami's Marcell Ozuna hit a sharp grounder to Hill at third base.
"It was kind of a tailor-made one, and I thought Yadi had an outstanding turn on it," Brewers manager Craig Counsell said. "It was a good spot for it."
A particularly good spot because the on-deck hitter was Marlins first baseman Justin Bour, who had already hit a three-run home run and an RBI double. Bour would lead off the sixth inning with another homer.
"That triple play, I couldn't believe it happened," Bour said.
It was the Brewers' first triple play since Aug. 15, 2011, against the Dodgers, also at Miller Park.

The White Sox are the only other team to turn a triple play this season. They did it against Prince Fielder and the Rangers on April 22.
