MINNEAPOLIS -- Second baseman James Dozier and center fielder Byron Buxton were both held out of the Twins' lineup against the Red Sox on Saturday, as Dozier suffered a mild left ankle sprain on Friday and Buxton is still feeling the effects of running into the wall twice on Thursday.
Dozier sustained the injury while fielding a grounder hit by Xander Bogaerts in the sixth inning of Friday's 4-3 win. He initially remained in the game, but his ankle worsened, and he was removed in the ninth for pinch-hitter Kennys Vargas. Dozier is also likely to miss Sunday's game, but he could return on Tuesday after Monday's off-day.

"He's hobbling a little bit today," Twins manager Paul Molitor said. "He's got some swelling. It graded out as a mild sprain so he's still day-to-day, but I'd be surprised if he's back in there tomorrow, to be honest with you. We'll see how the next couple days unfold and see if he can be ready after the off-day."
Buxton, who passed his concussion protocol, felt better Saturday than he did on Friday. He took batting practice and ran in the outfield before the game.
Molitor said both Dozier and Buxton are expected to avoid the 10-day disabled list.
"We talked about the difference in the 10-day and the 15-day and how it changes your thinking a little bit," Molitor said. "But they're potentially going to be ready sooner than later, so we're going to be patient."
