Omogrosso eager to help out White Sox bullpen

KANSAS CITY -- Right-hander Brian Omogrosso rejoined the White Sox on Friday and is eager to do whatever he can to bolster the bullpen.

Omogrosso made 11 appearances during his initial stint with the White Sox from May 1 through June 6, going 0-1 with a 5.14 ERA. He was also 0-1 with a 4.91 ERA, two saves and 14 strikeouts in 10 games for Triple-A Charlotte.

"I understood the situation when it happened," Omogrosso said. "I'm the guy who has the option left. I just went down there to work hard and try to get back here. You just persevere."

The Knights were preparing to head to Indianapolis when Omogrosso got the call. That's where his wife, Rachel, and her family are from.

The trip to Kansas City easily trumped a trip to Indianapolis.

"She said, 'We're good, it works out'," Omogrosso said with a laugh.

Omogrosso replaces right-hander Deunte Heath, who was optioned to Charlotte on Thursday.
