Holt to resume baseball work this weekend

June 9th, 2016

SAN FRANCISCO -- Red Sox outfielder Brock Holt, out with a mild concussion since May 19, is expected to join the team in Minnesota on Friday.
Holt is spending a few days in Pittsburgh visiting with a concussion specialist and will resume baseball activities this weekend.
"He continues to show improvement but is he ready for rehab?" Red Sox manager John Farrell said. "The symptoms are there but they're diminishing."
Worth noting
• Infielder Travis Shaw was out of Wednesday's lineup with left-hander Madison Bumgarner starting for the Giants.
"It gives us a chance to get another right-hander in there against Bumgarner," Farrell said.
• Infielder Xander Bogaerts continues to impress Farrell with baseball wisdom beyond his years.
"What we're seeing is a guy doing things not normal for a 23-year-old," said the manager. "You're seeing him grow in every way."
