Bullpen in good shape for doubleheader

NEW YORK -- D-backs manager Kirk Gibson didn't have any set plans on giving any of his players rest in either game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Mets. Gibson said he would see how Game 1 goes before making any decisions about who plays in Game 2.

That includes the bullpen.

"We should be fine. We really have everybody available in our bullpen," Gibson said. "Everybody's available. I don't expect to have any problems getting through. We're in pretty good shape going in."

With Friday's game getting called in the fourth inning due to rain, Arizona's bullpen received a break. In Saturday's 3-2 win over New York, Evan Marshall, Brad Ziegler and Addison Reed each pitched a scoreless inning.

Randall Delgado last pitched on Thursday, when he allowed a run in two-thirds of an inning against the Cardinals. Trevor Cahill was also rested, having not pitched since Wednesday in St. Louis. The right-hander has allowed only one run in his last 9 2/3 innings, spanning five appearances.

The only player who will definitely be out of the lineup for the second game is catcher Miguel Montero. Gibson said Tuffy Gosewisch will play the second game of the twin bill.
