DENVER -- Buster Posey smiled when he was asked whether he recalled the events of July 7, 2010: "You don't forget those," Posey said.
The Giants catcher created more memories for himself Saturday at Coors Field, where he hoisted a pair of three-run homers to match a career-best total of six RBIs as the Giants bested the Colorado Rockies, 10-5.

Posey's previous six-RBI binge occurred in that 2010 game at Milwaukee when he hit a two-run homer and a grand slam. He was halfway through his rookie season, just beginning to establish himself as an effective run producer.
Not much has changed. The Giants continue to rely on Posey to generate offense, and though everybody in their lineup is capable of impressive efforts, Posey's big days seem to resonate. That's what happens when the performer is a three-time All-Star and former Most Valuable Player.
"He's that type of player. He can carry us," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said.
Bochy added the Giants would prefer not to allow their world to revolve around Posey -- "We don't want to put that type of pressure on him" -- but days such as Saturday bolster the club nonetheless.
"It relaxes everybody," Bochy said.

"He's fun to watch," said left-hander Madison Bumgarner, who collaborated with Posey to allow Colorado one run and five hits in six innings. "We all know how good he is, but the kind of guy he is -- it seems like everybody pulls for him. It's hard not to. We all like seeing him do well. He's such a professonal when he goes out there. If we can get him going like we can, things will be thrown together pretty nice for us."
Posey's third career multiple-homer game lifted his batting average to .268, still far from the .310 figure he took into this year. But the two drives he directed over the right-center-field barrier indicated he's rediscovering his swing. Hitting to the opposite field has long been an indication that Posey's taking a solid approach.
"I'm happy with driving the ball that way," Posey said. "This is a park that allows you to do that. Sometimes at home, those balls are tracked down in the gap."
Posey's reference to Coors Field's friendliness was not an idle remark. In 49 career games here, he's batting .385 (70-for-182) with 11 homers and 40 RBIs.
Posey also became the first Giants catcher to record two games of six RBIs or more since the franchise moved to San Francisco in 1958. The others who had one such game were Bob Schmidt (Aug. 31, 1958, against the Dodgers), Jack Hiatt (seven RBIs on April 25, 1969, against the Astros) and A.J. Pierzynski (May 22, 2004, against the Expos).
