Escobar started the game and hit third in the first inning. He struck out in his only at-bat, while Rendon was caught stealing second base. The replay showed that Escobar checked his swing and hurt the wrist at the same time.
X-rays on Escobar's wrist were negative, and he will be re-evaluated on Friday, according to Nationals manager Matt Williams.
Escobar is off to a great start this season for Washington, hitting .316 with two home runs and 14 RBIs.
