Stanton named NL Player of the Month

MIAMI -- Despite breaking a bone in his left hand on June 26 and currently being on the 15-day disabled list, Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton was named the National League Player of the Month for June.

In 24 games, the right-handed slugger hit .344 (31-for-90) with 12 home runs and 23 RBIs. The 12 homers tied the franchise record for most in a month.
