Rangers place Jose Leclerc on 10-day DL; Dario Alvarez recalled from Round Rock

The Texas Rangers today announced that the club has placed right-handed pitcher Jose Leclerc on the 10-day disabled list effective today with a bruised right index finger.

San Diego, Calif. - The Texas Rangers today announced that the club has placed right-handed pitcher Jose Leclerc on the 10-day disabled list effective today with a bruised right index finger.
To replace Leclerc on the active roster, LHP Dario Alvarez has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.
Leclerc has been bothered by discomfort in the finger for the last several days and has appeared in just three of the last 12 Rangers' games, including Sunday at Seattle (0.2 IP, 0 H, 2 R-ER, 3 BB, 1 SO). He has gone 0-1 with a 2.31 ERA (3 ER/11.2 IP) and one save over total 10 appearances with Texas this season. The first day he would be eligible to return is May 18.
Alvarez returns after being optioned to Round Rock on Sunday. The lefthander has spent the rest of 2017 with the Rangers, going 1-0, 3.00 (3 ER/9.0 IP) in 10 appearances.
Texas opens a two-game series against the Padres in San Diego on Monday night.
