Brewers to make three selections on Day 1 of 2017 MLB Draft

Brewers Will Select Ninth Overall, Plus 34th and 46th on Day One.

The Milwaukee Brewers will make three selections on Day One of the First-Year Player Draft, which begins Monday, June 12 at 6 p.m. CT. The team owns the ninth overall selection, and will also make picks at #34 (Competitive Balance Round A) and #46 (Second Round) that same night.
The First-Year Player Draft spans three days of activity from Monday through Wednesday and will take place live at the MLB Network Studio 42 in Secaucus, New Jersey. Draft coverage will begin on MLB Network and MLB.com at 5 p.m. CT Monday. The Brewers' first selection (#9) will take place at approximately 6:54 p.m. CT, pick #34 will take place at approximately 9:05 p.m. CT and pick #46 will take place at approximately 9:36 p.m.
Representing the Brewers at the MLB Network Studio will be former Brewers All-Star Corey Hart and Vice President of Baseball Projects - Gord Ash. Hart was selected by the Brewers in the 11th round of the 2000 First-Year Player Draft out of Greenwood High School in Bowling Green, KY. The outfielder spent nine seasons with Milwaukee, where he hit .276 with 211 doubles, 33 triples, 154 homers and 508 RBI. He represented the Crew in both the 2008 and 2010 All-Star Game and will be enshrined on the Brewers Wall of Honor later this month. The Brewers have selected ninth overall only once before in team history. Milwaukee selected Geoff Jenkins from the University of Southern Californian with the ninth overall pick in the 1995 First-Year Player Draft. Jenkins spent 10 years with the Brewers and hit .277 with 287 doubles, 212 homers and 704 RBI.
The selection rotation is determined by the clubs' reverse order of finish at the close of the previous season. The Draft, which is comprised of 40 rounds, will continue on Tuesday at noon CT for Rounds 3-10. The Draft will resume on Wednesday for Rounds 11-40 at 11:00 a.m. CT and will continue through its conclusion.
